Effective August 25, 2026

Terms of Use

These terms govern use of the Yinzlist iPhone application and the website at yinzlist.com. Using either means agreeing to them. They are short on purpose: the rules that matter are in clause 3, and they are the ones a person would guess.

1.Operator

Yinzlist is operated by Community Access Project Inc., a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation. Questions about these terms may be directed to info@communityaccessproject.org. How personal information is handled is described separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

2.Who may use it

An account may be held by a person aged 13 or over. The service is operated for the City of Pittsburgh; nothing prevents its use from elsewhere, but it is not built for anywhere else.

One person, one account. An account may not be sold, rented, or handed to somebody else.

3.What may not be posted

Yinzlist carries what users write. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour, and posting any of the following is a breach of these terms:

Automated access, scraping, and attempts to circumvent the limits or security of the service are also a breach.

4.Moderation

Every user may report a post or an account from within the application. Reports are read by a moderator, who decides whether to act — nothing is hidden automatically on the strength of a report alone. Reported content that breaches clause 3 is removed, and the account responsible may be ended, ordinarily within twenty-four hours of the report.

Public posts from a new account pass a moderator before they appear at all. Any user may also block another; a block applies in both directions, so neither sees the other afterwards.

Content may be removed and an account may be ended at the discretion of Community Access Project Inc. where these terms are breached.

5.Content posted by users

A user keeps ownership of what they post. Posting grants Community Access Project Inc. permission to store and display that content within the service to the audience the user selected, and for no other purpose. That permission ends when the content is deleted.

Deleting a post removes it, and its photographs, from the database. Deleting an account removes the account and everything attached to it, immediately and without a retention period, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6.Events listed on the service

Yinzlist lists events published by their organisers and events gathered from public calendars. It does not run them, is not responsible for them, and cannot guarantee that an event will take place, that its details are correct, or that it is safe or suitable. Attending anything listed here is the attendee's own decision.

7.Availability

The service is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is run by a nonprofit on donated infrastructure and may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Community Access Project Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

8.Ending it

A user may delete their account at any time, from within the application, without asking anyone. Community Access Project Inc. may end an account that breaches these terms. Clauses 5, 6 and 7 survive the ending of an account.

9.Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10.Amendment

These terms may be amended. The effective date shown at the head of this page is the date of the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the amended terms.
